Team Red, White, and Blue!

Team Red, White, and Blue is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping veterans with their successful and continued transition into civilian life. It does this through community involvement in the form of social and physical activities. In Houston there are several events held every month to support these local veterans!

On the Fourth of July there is a Run Wild 5K at Uptown Park. The run begins at 7:30 am and the kids run starts at 8 am. The run cost 30 dollars and 35 dollars on the day of the race day. It would be a great way to support the troops on Independence Day and give up to your community!

Another event is the Shadow Creek Ranch Triathlon on July 14th in Pearland. There is a 500 meter swim, 15 mile bike ride, and 3.4 mile run. The triathlon costs 80 dollars for entrants. Volunteer opportunities are also available if you are not involved as an athlete.

The Watermelon Run for the Fallen is on August 17th in Hempstead. This event is to remember each soldier who gave his or her life serving our country in Iraq and Afghanistan. For the event each participant will run, walk, or roll a mile in memory of a fallen solider of their choosing or event staff will aid in assigning one form the many fallen. There will be live music and a helicopter fly over at the event.

All three of these events are great ways to give back to your community as well as support your local veterans, fallen soldiers, and the soldiers still at war.
