How to Support Local Houston Businesses–COVID-19

With social distancing still in effect, local business are struggling to stay open. We recently posted restaurants offering deals and way to give back to the city, but here are some way to support other local businesses!

Pet Stores

Kriser’s Natural Pet is open for curbside pickup. There are three locations here in Houston. Once you get to the store call and place your order. They’ll run it out to you and never have to leave your car! Stores are in The Heights, River Oaks, and WestU.

Tattoo Artists

Tattoo shops are not considered an essential business so at the moment they are all closed. Several local shops offer the option to buy gift cards online to be used later. Individual artists are also taking deposits to secure an appointment once social distancing is lifted. Contact your favorite shops and artists to see what they are offering!

Virtual Fitness Class

Several local gyms are offering online fitness classes in place of group classes. Find one that meets your needs!

The Atrium Yoga Studio streams classes several times a day. They are currently offering a $60 off 10 class package. Find more info here.

Black Swan Yoga Houston is streaming its classes online for free. They are asking for you to donate to help support their teachers who are out of work and considered starting a yoga membership. Find more info here.

Big Power Yoga Houston is streaming classes on Zoom for members and nonmembers. Month long unlimited memberships are $50 while single classes are $10. Find more info here.

Click Virtual Food Hall

This is an alternative to UberEats with free delivery and no fees. There are currently seven restaurants you can choose from with the option to mix and match from each. By partnering with Kids’ Meals Inc, for each $30 order placed they will feed 1 hungry child. Find more info here.

Escape Room

The Escape Game has closed its doors temporarily but they have created online escape rooms! There are currently two volumes available to complete. They are also offering 30% off gift cards for in-person games when they are back up and running.

Alley Theatre

While there aren’t productions currently running, the theatre offers season pass options for showing later this year and next year. The 2020-2021 season has three different package options that can be viewed here. In the event that productions are cancelled, issues will be refunded.
