2. DALLAS HOLIDAY PARADE

Kick-off your family’s holiday season by attending the season’s most spectacular event — marching bands, festive floats, and fun family activities to carry into the new year. The 32nd annual Dallas Holiday Parade will march down Commerce Street in Downtown Dallas Saturday, December 7 at 10 a.m. to ring in the holiday season. Give your children a holiday to remember. On behalf of the Dallas Holiday Parade, come be a part of the magic!

3. NEW YEARS’ EVE IN DALLAS: PARTY ON THE PLAZA

Enjoy food trucks, drinks and live entertainment from American Idol favorites Castro, plus the Emerald City Elevation Band, all counting down to the Reunion Tower Over-The-Top fireworks – the most unique and unforgettable fireworks show in Texas!

PEPPERMINT BARK

The holiday season is in full swing! Here is a tasty festive recipe everyone will love.

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 12 oz. white chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
  • 18 candy canes, crushed

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Fill the bottom of a large pot with 3” water and bring to simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low, then place a large heatproof bowl on top. Add semi-sweet chocolate and stir occasionally until chocolate has melted. Stir in extract.
  3. Pour into prepared baking sheet and spread into an even layer with an offset spatula. Refrigerate until set, about 20 minutes.
  4. Over the same pot of barely simmering water, place another large heatproof bowl. Add white chocolate and stir until melted.
  5. Pour over set semi-sweet chocolate then top immediately with candy canes. Refrigerate until set, about 20 minutes.
