3. AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM PRESENTS 32ND TEXAS BLACK INVITATIONAL RODEO

Presented by the African American Museum, Dallas, the Texas Black Invitational Rodeo offers up an exciting night as approximately 300 African American cowboys and cowgirls compete for significant cash prizes in bronc and bull riding, calf and steer roping, barrel racing, a Pony Express relay race and more. Kicking off with the Grand Entry Parade, this fast-paced sporting event provides guests with their first glimpse of the historical contributions that African Americans contributed to the settling of the western United States. The family-friendly event also includes on-field kid activities.

4TH OF JULY CELEBRATIONS IN DALLAS

Parades, fireworks and festivals return with a bang this Fourth of July as pandemic restrictions ease. Keep reading to find the perfect event to attend this weekend!

Liberty by the Lake – July 3rd-4th – Join for a weekend of family fun as we celebrate the birth of America’s freedom at the 24th Annual Liberty By The Lake festival. Saturday, July 3rd kick off the celebration with the Liberty 5K/10K/1M Presented by AT&T race out at The Old American Clubhouse, 1000 Lebanon Dr. Then on Sunday, July 4th finish the weekend with concert, food vendors and the best fireworks around!

Independence Day Celebration in Irving – July 3rd-4th – The City of Irving will host its annual Independence Day Celebration live and in-person this year, taking safety precautions for this two-day celebration. The community is invited to join in the celebration with this year’s theme, “Irving Brings Back the Spark.”

Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Festival – July 3rd-4th  – The festival will feature live music with Vegas Stars, family fun activities such as airbrush tattoos and a petting zoo, and a 20-minute fireworks show after the last live race.

Frisco Freedom Fest – July 3rd-4th – A fireworks extravaganza is the dazzling finale on July 4, hosted by the City of Frisco, FC Dallas, and CoServ. The skies will light the night with a 20-minute show beginning at 9:45 p.m.

Castle Hills July 4th Freedom Festival – July 4th – The annual July 4th Freedom Festival, a community tradition for more than 20 years, is returning to Castle Hills at 5:30 p.m. The event features activities such as bounce houses, carnival games and music.

Plano’s All American 4th & Fireworks – July 4th – Plano’s All American 4th & Fireworks will be held both in-person and online for 2021. The in-person event begins at 6 pm on Sunday, July 4 at Red Tail Pavilion (formerly Oak Point Amphitheater).
