Not very often do people buy homes and remodel them, but this was the case for two local home owners.

Johnny and Brynne decided to buy 4607 Richmond Ave. in Afton Oaks neighborhood and completely remodel this home. The house was originally built in 1956 so it had a mid-century modern look to it. The couple wanted to take this old house and transform it into a modern day family home.

The original square footage of the house was 1,600 but after the remodel it is approximately 1,700 square feet. The couple decided to knock some down walls to give the home a more “open concept” and added a master closet. They also put bamboo wood floors throughout the home and completely upgraded the kitchen to a chef’s kitchen. The couple also added a new HVAC, new plumbing, roof, sliding, garage door, energy efficient windows, and electrical all in the home. Both bathrooms were completely upgraded and had granite counters installed. The landscaping was redone and fresh plants were planted in the front yard and back yard.

While the house is under contract, the couple has decided they want to enjoy their newly remodeled home from a while before selling.
