2. 9TH ANNUAL DALLAS OBSERVER BREWFEST

Dallas Observer’s 9th Annual BrewFest is back! Brewfest is an outdoor beer-sampling event and festival that will feature hundreds of local, international and craft beers, music, local food and more.

PUMPKIN PIE DIP

The weather isn’t cooling off in Dallas anytime soon, but here is a fall dessert to get the ball rolling!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin pie filling
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Garnishes: ground cinnamon, cinnamon sticks

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Beat cream cheese and sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth.
  2. Add pie filling, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and ginger, and beat well.
  3. Cover and chill 8 hours.
  4. Serve with gingersnaps and apple or pear slices. Garnish, if desired.
