The 2015 ULR Food Drive benefitting the Women’s Home has come to a close, and we are happy to say we have collected more items then ever before!! The response from the co-sponsors and the community was overwhelming. The agents of ULR spent Wednesday morning piling boxes of cans and other non-perishable goods into trucks for transport to Jan Cizik Garden Place, where we stocked not 1 pantry, but three pantries full to the brim with needed items. We doubled our collection efforts this year, bringing in over 4800 items!!
The Women’s Home has been helping Houston women get back on their feet for almost 60 years. The core of their program revolves around the “Whole Life Approach” focusing on Emotional/Mental Wellness, Physical wellness, Spiritual wellness, Social wellness, and Fiscal wellness for the women in the program. Many of the resident’s at Jane Cizik Gardens are on strict budgets and have a difficult time purchasing toiletries and groceries, so each of the items donated are much-needed and greatly appreciated!
A big thank you to this year co-sponsors for all of their hardwork and dedication to this year’s drive:
-Marry Go Round Bridal
-Sovereign at Regent Square
-Venue Museum District
-Demi’s Dog House
-Post Midtown Square
-Little Jimmy’s Deli
-Bayou on the Bend

ULR would also like to extend our gratitude to Kai Bike, North American Title, The Doerr Family, The Tatz Family, Chad Helmcamp, and all of the agents of ULR for their generous donations.
The BIGGEST thank you goes to Expressworks for collecting $900 and heading to HEB to buy almost 500 items for the drive, the most out of any co-sponsor!!!
We truly appreciate all of your generosity and can’t wait to do it again next year!
